Thanks for this post this morning as it brought me back to my own childhood. I did the exact same things with Barbie as a child. Barbie and I never really established a friendship.
I never had a barbie doll as I never liked dolls. My daughter is not quite old enough yet for barbie dolls but so far appears to have inherited my total lack of interest in them so I don’t think ken will be getting a sex change any time soon in our house
@Aging Mommy, My husband got my daughter her first Barbie for her 1st birthday. Obviously, he’s a guy because he thinks girls=Barbies. She’s picked up a few more here and there but has yet to take to them. I liked to pop their head off when I was a kid, that’s about it. So apparently, they get it from.
LOL…holy crap, that is funny! I used to try and curl the hair of mine. It would just melt on to the curling iron and piss off my mother….who never should have left me alone with the curling iron anyway, so there.
Best,
Tina
::snort:: Now that’s funny! The worst thing that ever happened to my Barbies was our dog would eat them. As a puppy, her favorite chew-toys were my & my sister’s Barbie dolls, and my Dad’s dirty socks. Go figure. I think those pictures could get you a one-woman show in a modern art museum. Disturbing, yet thought-provoking. Country-Fried Mama’s latest post: The end of a blogging break
Yep. My sister always used to cut their hair, somehow thinking that we could put it back. Little bro flushed their accessories down the toilet.
What’s going on in the second photo here? I’m agreeing with Country-Fried Mama, especially on that one! Leslie’s latest post: Spring is over…

I used to chew off the toes of my barbie…. I was a strange, strange child… LOL. I dont know why but they were not plastic back then… more rubbery.
I did not eat ..just chewed…weird, huh.
Have a great day!

Memories! I’d cut their hair and make new clothes out of socks and fabric scraps. Those were good times!
