Excedrin® Migraine Relaxation Baskets! #giveaway #win

The first time I recall experiencing a migraine was in high school. That’s 15 years ago. It’s not a pleasant memory. I didn’t get them often back then, and when I did, finding a quiet place to rest for a few hours was usually enough to ease the pain. Eventually, however, they began to occur more frequently with even more intensity. If left untreated, my migraines can be debilitating.

The average migraine lasts for 12 hours for those who don’t take any medication. With children to watch and chase after now, I don’t have the choice of losing an entire day because of migraines. After talking with my doctor, the only thing that has worked for me has been Excedrin® Migraine. It starts to relieve migraine pain in 30 minutes.

Perhaps the most important tool in tracking migraines is a migraine diary. It is used by doctors to track potential triggers and patterns related to your migraine. I know that, for me, chocolate, caffeine, and the fluctuation in seasonal temperatures are major triggers. Be sure to visit the Migraine Center for more information on migraine relief. Also, check out Excedrin® Migraine’s Facebook page for real migraine stories, and share your tips and suggestions with other sufferers.

Excedrin® Migraine is the #1 Neurologist recommended over-the-counter pain reliever for migraine pain relief. And for me, it has been a lifesaver.

Which is why I am so excited to partner with such a trusted brand to offer this incredible giveaway!

Excedrin is usually my medicine of choice when I suffer from a bad headache or migraine. If you catch it at the beginning, the Excedrin will take it away really quickly. I also try laying down in a dark room with no noise and a warm washcloth on my head. Great gift basket!

My husband has bad headaches and after taking Excedrin, he goes to lay down in bed for a while with his eyes closed. This works for him.

Amusingly, Excedrin Migraine is also my medicine of choice when it comes to OTC migraine/headache medicine. I kid you not, there’s a bottle in my purse now. I usually don’t get a migraine more often than once every 3 months or so, but I had a phase in my life where I got them more than monthly.

I get frequent migraines, and have had them since my teens. In high school my friends would tell me I made them up as an excuse to stay home so I got pretty good at working through the pain just so I wouldn’t have to listen to them tease me.

I always take Excedrin Migraine along with a coke at the onset of a migraine, it usually helps but I have been know to have them for an entire week.

I would LOVE to win this basket, just thinking about it makes me smile!

Thankfully I’ve never had a full blast migraine, but for bad headaches, I think having someone rub her temples is nice….or do it yourself if you must. Lay down in a quiet room with her eyes closed

  6. Kelly D says

I get tension headaches on occasion and I know to treat it right away with medicine. My husband gets bad migraines and he has to avoid certain foods and to rest when he feels them coming on.

  7. Candace says

My husband could really benefit from this package. We also use Excedrin migraine. He gets them, along with vertigo attacks and is usually “out of commission” for a half day to a full day. Thanks for the coupon too!!!

  8. Jessica T. says

When my son gets a bad headache, I try to give him medicine at the onset and have him lay down.

  9. Amanda Sakovitz says

I drink black coffee for my migraines and when its really bad I lay in my room with all the blinds shut & earplugs.

  10. Jackie Craig says

Two years ago I started having severe migraines. It was found that I had B-12 deficiency as a result of fibromyalgia. This deficiency causes me to have headaches frequently, I have an arsenal of heating pads, ice packs and a bottle of excedrin in my purse at all times. If I get the excedrin in time and a little down time I can actually cut the migraine down! Excedrin rocks!

When I get migraines, I lay back and drink peppermint tea–really seems to calm them down.

  13. Melinda Mendy Dinsmore says

I like a dark quite room and a towel around my neck. I don’t know why that works, but it seems to help.

  14. kindra baron says

I usually use Excedrin as well, when I have a migraine. But I am currently pregnant so that’s not an option for me. What works best for me is laying down (in a room that isn’t hot), turning off the lights & having no noise. If I can do that for about an hour, I feel significantly better. Also, having my husband rub pressure points…in your hand, foot, neck, etc usually helps also.

I have experienced migraines for YEARS. Back in the day the only way to get relief was to go to the doctor office and get shots. I now use Excedrine Migraine as a first resort when I have a migraine. Usually it works, if not I move on to the harder prescription I have as a back up. LOVE the gift basket and your blog! :)

  16. says

I have only had 5 migraines in my life. But when they come, they are bad enough to keep me in bed for an entire day. I always keep migraine medicine in the house. I usually take blankets and pillows into the darkest room of the house, close the blinds and curtains and stuff a towel under the door and wait for the meds to kick in!

Fortunately I don’t suffer from migraines but my hubby does. He just lays down and if it gets too bad he puts a freezing towel around his neck to relieve the tension.

I suffer badly from migraines to the point sometimes they make me throw up. I say Excedrin is the best stuff on here on the market other than a prescription. HeaDACHE IS GONE WITHIN 15 MINS.or less.As long as I take them on the onset of the migraine it will go away if not it doesnt matter what i take so i use a ice pack and sleep.sometimes with iam lucky my husband will give me a massage on the bottom part of my neck.also sometimes sit in the shower and let the water run on her head. the pressure of it almost feels like a massage. Sleep is the best if you can get it.

I have suffered from migraines for the past twenty years. Mine are all triggered from hormones so there’s really no “cure” or way to avoid them. Mine have changed over time though – I used to have to lay in a dark room for several hours for the headache to go away. The light was bothersome. Now it really affects my vision – I get all this “tiling” and I can’t look at anything but there’s only a very minor headache.

My migraines are usually accompanied by light sensitivity and noise sensitivity. For me what works best is taking Excedrin at the onset and then resting in a quiet, relaxed room to let my brain “center” itself. ♥

  25. says

when i get migraines i cry. :o( i also get a warm compress (sometimes cold it depends on the day) and lay in a dark room.

when my husband gets one he goes to sleep. i cant sleep when i have migraines. they kind of suck a lot.

Everyone in my family gets terrible headaches! I don’t get headaches often, but I am very brand loyal to Excedrin and will buy them when I get coupons. However…they do go fast because everyone goes in my med cabinet for them! Best headache remedy besides the excedrin? Probably some quiet time to calm down…and positive thoughts.

  29. Brittany G says

I started getting migraines after giving birth to my second daughter. The epidural didn’t take and there was a mistake on the part of the anesthesiologist, which caused me to get a spinal headache. Eventually that went away, but I still occasionally get horrible migraines. The only thing I have found to relieve them is complete silence, complete dark, and sleep. Glad I read this article, even if I don’t win I will be happy to try Excedrin Migraine.

  30. Robin Quick says

I have to take Excedrin Migraine & go lay down in a quiet dark & cold room. My head will hurt so bad I get nauseated & vomit. It feels like my head is going to explode!

Before I eliminated certain foods and changed the detergent we used, I got them periodically. What worked the best for me was to use an ice pack and sit at in our recliner. The pain was worse when I’d lie down.

  32. Regina Trobee says

I am a Excedrin user often. I get pretty severe headaches. I usually take my Excedrin and go find somewhere to hide in the house and be alone. I just try to close my eyes and meditate a little.
