School is officially back in session. That means the lazy days of summer are long gone. We now have after school activities, projects, friend invites, jam-packed evenings, and so much homework I feel like I should be back in class myself.
There’s also the matter of trying to fit everything that I need to do between the hours when the house is all to myself. It kinda gives me a headache just thinking about it.
For those headaches, though, I make sure to stay positively prepared with a quick trip to Target. While there, I pick up a bottle of TYLENOL® 8 HR Muscle Aches & Pain. For adults and children 12 years and older, it’s pain relief you can count on to act fast and relieves muscle aches and body pains for up to 8hrs. For even more soothing muscle relief, I rely on Ultra Strength BENGAY® Cream. Ultra Strength BENGAY® Cream temporarily relieves the minor aches and pains of muscles and joints associated with: simple backache, arthritis, strains, bruises and sprains. Basically, anything those back to school days can throw at you.
Kids sometimes need relief, too. Thus, I also grab a bottle of Children’s TYLENOL® while at Target. When it comes to reducing fevers and relieving pain in children, TYLENOL® is the brand recommended most by pediatricians. It also won’t upset little stomachs. My kids like the Grape flavor.
I like being able to keep up and get it all done. Because the to do list isn’t going to do itself.
To keep up with the to-do list, though, and any extra busy days my kids may have, I’ve made DIY Chalkboard Clipboards using inexpensive wood clipboards found in the office supply aisle. You would not believe how much of a lifesaver these Chalkboard Clipboards are and so much easier than dealing with strips of paper everywhere. Simply tuck a piece of chalk in the paper clip of the clipboard and you’re set!
I’ve made 3 DIY Chalkboard Clipboards, one for each kid and their many daily school things. What makes these chalkboard clipboards so amazing, however, is that you can simply wipe them clear with a damp cloth or paper towel and make them for anything you may need that day. Chalk is brilliant! My kids like to use ours as memo boards, because mom can be forgetful. And I like to use them to remind my kids about homework assignments, because mom is also a mom and that’s what we do.
But do you need a list of what you’re supposed to bring to the PTA meeting? Need to keep track of your kids’ soccer games? Chore list? Band practices? How about just wipe it all away and take a play day? You can do that, too! With no paper trail! So much easier.
- inexpensive wood clipboards
- chalk paint
- foam brush
- chalk for writing
Gather your clipboards and protect the surface of whatever you’re painting them on with newspaper. I used 3 clipboards for my 3 kids.
Apply an even coat of chalkboard paint using the foam brush. Try to use even strokes in one direction. If you like, you can tape off the clip of the clipboard, but I found any paint that happens to get on it scrapes right off with a fingernail.
We used 2 coats for our clipboards. Let each coat dry completely. Then tuck a piece of chalk under the clipboard and hang or get ready to take along for any quick notes.
