Do you know who usually gets looked over when it comes to Halloween? Our pups. They want to have fun, too, though. Just as long as you don’t dress them up in superhero capes. But really, how can you resist?
For being such great sports, they definitely deserve a treat. And a fun treat jar to keep those treats in nice and tight, because some dogs are tricky. I know mine would do anything for a Milkbone or any of the Big Heart Pet Brands found at Walmart.com. If you have friends with dogs, these DIY Trick AND Treat Halloween Dog Treat Jars would make great gifts to pass along on Halloween night, with extra treats of course.
- Mason or canning jar
- small pumpkin decorations
- black acrylic paint
- burlap ribbon
- Trick AND Treat printable tag
First, paint the top of your lid black then, once the paint is dry, glue on one of your pumpkin decorations.
Next, print out a Trick AND Treat printable tag. I used just regular paper, but you could use cardstock to make it sturdier. Punch a hole in the top left corner of your tag.
Snip a length of ribbon long enough to go around your jar and form a bow. Slide your tag through one end of ribbon and tie it all together.
The most important part here, fill with lots of dog treats!
