Are you ready for another Valentine’s Day idea? Well ready or not, here it is. It’s a box! A box of love.
With a very simple printable that you can print on any color paper you’d like, I chose red and white, this Valentine’s Day Paper Heart Box is so easy and so cute and the perfect way to store conversation hearts. Those occasional candies of sweet sentiments deserve a special storage container, to pass out amongst friends or keep on hand.
You’re not limited to just storing conversation hearts, though. Fill it with any small candy or lightweight trinket you’d like to celebrate the holiday. The holiday of love.
Ok, it’s not just love. It’s also a holiday of friendship and family and fun and 6 year old kids sheepishly passing out The Incredible Hulk Valentine’s Day cards, or my awesome LEGO cards, to everyone in their class.
And to really score points, your kid can then give this Valentine’s Day Paper Heart Box to their teacher. No love necessary.
- Paper Heart Box template printable
- red and white paper
- red yarn
- glue & tape
Print the heart box template on your paper. Once printed, cut inside the black line and cut a diagonal slit on each corner, about an inch or so in. Fold over onto itself and tape together, both front and back.
Cut a thin strip of corresponding paper, if you used red for the box, use white for the strip. White for the box, use red for the strip, and so on. Glue it around the box to cover the tape.
Fill your box with your goodies. Fold the hearts over on top. With a long piece of yarn, tie it all together.
If I had a conversation heart to give to all of you, it would say you’re awesome!
