A green thumb, I do not have. I’ve tried. I’ve planted flowers and weeded and had some success in the past. But then I’ve also planted flowers and waited and watched as nothing sprouted. Thankfully, you don’t need a green thumb to grow these Pipe Cleaner Weaving Spring Flowers!
This Pipe Cleaner Weaving Spring Flowers craft is a lot of fun, taking advantage of a few different materials. First, we used a flower cookie cutter that we used as our flower outline. Then, punch holes on each petal and where each petal is joined. Weave pipe cleaners through those holes until your flower is full, at which point trim away the excess paper from the flower.
Glue one half of a plastic Easter egg in the middle of your flower and attach a green craft stick for the stem, with green paper leaf to complete your Pipe Cleaner Weaving Spring Flowers craft!
- pipe cleaners in assorted colors
- white cardstock
- ¼” hole punch
- flower cookie cutter or similar to trace outline
- green craft stick
- green construction paper
- plastic Easter eggs
First, trace the flower outline on a piece of white cardstock with a pencil.
Cut out flower shape and punch holes on the tip of each petal as well as where each petal joins.
Weave pipe cleaners through each hole. When one pipe cleaner runs out, simply wind a new pipe cleaner around the remainder of the old and continue until the flower is full. Shape the pipe cleaners to shape if needed. Trim away excess paper from around the flower, but be careful! Don’t cut your pipe cleaners!
Glue half of a plastic Easter egg in the middle of the flower. Attach a green craft to the middle center back of the flower. Cut a leaf from the green construction and glue on the front of the green craft stick.
You don’t need a green thumb for these spring flowers, only green craft sticks! My kind of flowers!
