Don’t tell my kids, but it will be time to go back to school before we know it. They have about one more month left. Not that I’m counting down, or anything. Well, maybe a little. We’re having a lot of fun this summer, but I think we’ll all be ready.
Part of being ready means a well-stocked backpack, though. And before that big day, there’s a lot of shopping for pencils, erasers, notebooks, and all the other school goodies.
We’ve been through the back to school routine quite a few times before. And while I may feel like a seasoned professional by this point, it always seems more expensive than it needs to be. If we can find some ways to save on the classroom supplies, however, then that means we may have more to spend on the stuff that really matters to a kid. Like new back to school clothes shopping. My daughter is especially fond of that one.
As such, I try my best to stock up on supplies when they’re on sale and even buy more than needed if it’s at a steep discount, because I know they will get used eventually. I also take help from coupons and save up gift cards whenever possible.
