I love crafting with old CDs, mostly because we have so many around here and it’s a good way to use them up. But also, they make the most amazing reflections. With just a bit of shine gleaming through these Scratched CD Spiderwebs, I have to say I think they’re one of my favorites.
For our Scratched CD Spiderwebs, you first need to paint your old CDs on the bottom, shiny side. For darker colors, like the black and blue, we only needed 1 coat. The red and white we did 2 coats.
Then take a toothpick and begin making your marks. First going from the center out then connecting those lines. You can make however many lines you like and then the connections can be curved or straight or just go crazy and make it all random. It’s a great Halloween craft for kids! Because any way, it’s going to be the most beautiful spiderweb!
- old CDs
- acrylic paints – we used black, blue, red, and white
First, coat the CD entirely with paint. We used a few different colors, but you could also make them all black or all red. Let dry then apply another coat if needed. Let dry completely.
Taking your toothpick, begin making your marks. First, going from the center hole out. Then, make smaller connecting lines. Most of ours took about 6 lines going out and 4 connecting lines, but we also played around with. But there are no rules, let your kids have fun with it!
