Breakfast, it’s the most important meal of the day. Knowing this, and being a somewhat intelligent person, it’s still the meal that I tend to skip over. I could give you a list of reasons, but the main issue is that I just don’t do mornings well. It’s a new year, though, and I’m getting off on the right track by starting with the breakfast items that I do enjoy. Orange juice and cinnamon rolls top that list.
Since breakfast is so hard for me, when I do take the effort it needs to be worth it and moving towards that goal of a better me. I don’t make New Year resolutions for the most part, but I do want to be better this new year. For not only for myself, but also my kids. That means I take it a step further, while still taking it easy like the early morning should be. So I don’t just drink a glass of orange juice, I drink Trop50. No pulp, plus calcium and vitamin D to be exact.

To go with a glass of Trop50 at breakfast, I do love a sweet cinnamon roll. But since we’re taking the effort, while still taking it easy, I have a super simple way of making healthier homemade Crescent Orange Cinnamon Rolls. Using Trop50, of course!
First for our Super Simple Crescent Orange Cinnamon Rolls, you’ll need 2 tubes of store bought crescent rolls. Roll one out at a time, pinching the seams together as best as possible. Then, spread softened butter and sprinkle with 2 tbsp of cinnamon. Then roll the crescent dough into a log and cut into 1 inch pieces. Place all pieces with sides touching in a loaf pan. Bake in a 350 degree preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until all rolls are evenly golden brown.
Then, there’s the orange glaze for our Super Simple Crescent Orange Cinnamon Rolls. That’s a mix of ½ cup of Trop50 with 2 cups of powdered sugar whisked together until smooth. That may b a lot of glaze, you might say, but depending on how sweet you feel that morning, you don’t have to use all. Plus, the cinnamon rolls will have no problem soaking it all in. Just make sure that the rolls are completely done and golden brown.
It’s a great way to wake up in the morning! And a great way to start on a better track in the new year.
- 2 8oz tubes crescent rolls
- 4 tbsp butter, softened
- 4 tbsp cinnamon
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- ½ cup Trop50
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Flatten 1 tube of crescent dough at a time, pinching seams together. Spread 2 tbsp softened butter across dough. Sprinkle with 2 tbsp cinnamon. Gently roll into a log and cut into 1-1½ inch pieces. Place with sides touching in loaf pan. Repeat with other tube of crescent roll dough.
- Bake for about 30 minutes until evenly golden brown.
- Whisk together Trop50 and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Once the rolls are out of the oven, let cool for 5 minutes. Pour orange glaze, as much as desired, onto rolls.
- Eat warm.
